Hugh Jackman picks up a best actor nomination as Victor Hugo’s tragic hero Jean Valjean in Les Miserables; Naomi Watts in nominated for best actress as a mother caught up in a devastating tsunami in The Impossible; and Jacki Weaver gets a best supporting actress nod as an unstable man’s doting mum in Silver Linings Playbook. Weaver was nominated last year for her role as the not-so-doting mum of criminals in Animal Kingdom.
