The Commonwealth and Public Sector Union has thrown its weight behind Matt Peacock as its preferred candidate for the position of ABC Staff Elected Director. Peacock is running on a platform that includes maintaining in-house production at the ABC.
This is counter to the position taken by former ABC head of television (and the Screen Producers Association of Australia) which advocates outsourcing production to the independent sector.
