Eighty members of the International Chapter of AACTA has nominated a total of fifteen films displaying ‘excellence regardless of geography’. They are all in English.
The nominated films are:
12 Years a Slave, set in the US, with American characters. It is written by John Ridley (US), directed by Steve McQueen (UK). A UK/US coproduction between Regency Enterprises, Film4, River Road Entertainment, Plan B Entertainment, Fox Searchlight Pictures and Summit Entertainment. Budget said to be $US20m.
