A Golden Koala brings films by emerging Chinese directors to Australia

Far from the cold touch of official approval, nine diverse Chinese films by emerging directors slip into a campus-based festival tour as they vie for the Golden Koala Awards.

The bare facts about the 2017 Golden Koala Chinese Film Festival are these: It launched on Thursday February 2 in Sydney, and presents nine films until February 7 at the University of NSW. It opens at RMIT on February 8 and finishes on February 10. Then it moves to university locations at the other capital cities. It is run by volunteers under the auspices of the Australia China Youth Association.
