The 30 year anniversary of ‘Picnic at Hanging Rock’ will be marked by a screening in Sydney. It will be – without a shadow of a doubt – the single most intense boomer moment in the past and future history of the Australian film industry. Through the throng will pass the missing girls, restored and perfect in their youth, yawning after sleeping for a generation, and the gathering will weep over dreams lost and the passage of time.
This Thursday the cast and crew of the classic Australian film Picnic at Hanging Rock will celebrate the 30th anniversary of its release with a special screening at the Art Gallery of New South Wales, hosted by the Equity Foundation of the Media, Entertainment and Arts Alliance (MEAA) with the support of the Australian Film Commission (AFC).
