SAY NOTHING starring Joel Edgerton and Teresa Palmer and directed by Kieran Darcy-Smith will be the first feature film in Australia to shoot on ARRI’s new high-end digital camera, the ALEXA. The ALEXA has only been used to film thirty feature films around the world, including Martin Scorcese’s Hugo Cabret and Roland Emmerich’s Anonymous. SAY NOTHING begins shooting in Sydney in early December and Cambodia in January 2011.
ARRI’s ALEXA is a new compact, lightweight, professional digital camera with a price point that makes it a very viable option for low budget films. It utilises ultra-fast workflows and gives an image quality akin to 35mm film. The ALEXA features the ARRI Alev III CMOS sensor, which is a full-frame 35mm size and it has a 3.5K pixel count. SAY NOTHING will also use the new ARRI Alura zoom lenses built by Fujinon.
