Melbourne short film ‘Rain For Morgan’ has been awarded the ‘Best International Short under 50 minutes’ prize at the 2010 International Film Festival of Ireland.

The award ceremony took place on Saturday night in Tipperary after a week of screenings of over 300 films from all over the world.
Based on the Celtic myth ‘Johnny Croy and the Mermaid’ and set in post World War II drought-stricken Australia, ‘Rain for Morgan’ was produced and directed by Melbourne filmmaker, Marisa Brown.
On receiving the award, Brown commented that presenting a Celtic myth retold in an Australian setting to a Irish audience was a nerve-wracking experience.
