,em>A treasure trove of zombie flicks and Aussie cult film classics such as Alvin Purple may not be usual fodder for a university library. But thanks to a partnership between Queensland University of Techology (QUT) and Brisbane’s now defunct Trash Video, one of the country’s largest collections of Ozploitation and art house films will remain in circulation.
QUT’s horror movie expert Dr Mark Ryan said the QUT Library’s collection of Trash Videos, which had been lovingly acquired by the store’s former owner Andrew Leavold during its 15-year lifespan, was priceless in terms of education for his film students.
