The formal qualifications in multimedia are being reviewed by Innovation and Business Skills Australia, one of the Industry Skills Councils which develop national competency standards and qualifications for workforce skills development and training. Byond the gobbledegook, this affects the base qualifications for new employees, and the upgrade paths for existing staff.
There are multimedia qualifications in three Training Packages under the coverage of Innovation and Business Skills Australia (IBSA). They are CUF01 Film, Television, Radio and Multimedia; ICA05 Information Technology and ICP05 Printing and Graphic Arts. On 1 June, a discussion paper about ways to streamline these qualifications will be available for comment until the end of June. In summary, the paper:
