FROM KERRY O’ROURKE
The ACL collection now consists of around 20,000 individual items, plus many multiple copies. They are now about to start the ACL Elder Program which will entail taking copies of items (principally books) that are multiply represented in their collection and placing them in a variety of aged accommodation institutions throughout the State. This means the ACL can accept much of what people donate without becoming over-burdened with multiple copies of common items. They have also launched an ACL Kid’s Room.
Steve does this all without pay. This is a volunteer-based organisation which however must still pay overheads. To date it has received NO funding from any of the 3 levels of government, so we have passed over the rights to him to screen for a donation.
So we are delighted to tell you your work finally has a good home, the best home it could ever have.
