Monday 7 January 2008: The National Film and Sound Archive (NFSA) today announced SCORE, a free program of new scores for silent films by young composers at the National Music Camp (NMC) in Canberra on Friday 18 January 2008.

Celebrated UK composer Joby Talbot (The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, League of Gentlemen) will provide participants in the NMC Composition Program with expert guidance that will enable them to write new scores for some of the silent films in the NFSA’s acclaimed Corrick Collection. Joby Talbot will direct a 12-member instrumental ensemble performing live-to-playback in the NFSA’s new Arc cinema and will field questions from the audience.
