Tuesday 13 March 2007: The National Film and Sound Archive (NFSA) today handed back copies of archival sound and moving image recordings to a delegation of elders from the Martu peoples of the Australian Western Desert in a special ceremony in Canberra.

The recordings relate to Martu cultural heritage and have been lodged with the NFSA’s Indigenous Collection by the Martu community. The NFSA has digitised the material as a contribution to Kanyirninpa Jukurrpa – the Martu History and Archive Project.
