The 23rd Melbourne Queer Film Festival (MQFF) came to a close on 25 March after 11 days of queer cinematic culture that included screening 169 films. The Festival recorded a whopping 39 sold-out sessions.

This year the Festival screened two Australian premiers of Melbourne-made feature films; Monster Pies written and directed by Lee Galea and Closing Night film Submerge, written by Kat Holmes and directed by Sophie O’Connor.
