Madman has record year at box office

The unlikely combination of French sophistication and Aussie heart has
proved a winning one for Madman Cinema for whom 2006 will be a year to remember.

Hidden starring Juliette Binoche and Daniel Auteuil went head to head with Mission Impossible 3 when it debuted in May. The award winning French thriller earned an impressive screen average of $16,783 in its opening week, ahead of MI3 which achieved $10,965 per screen. Hidden went on to take $1,300,598 in Australian box office receipts and secure its place as the number one grossing foreign film of the year.
