When the Lorne Cinema opened in 1937, holiday makers would catch a charabanc from the Birregurra Station down the treacherous Otways roads. Now they can drive all the way to the First Lorne Film Festival, in the very same cinema.
The inaugural Lorne Film Festival, supported by Regional Development Victoria and the Surf Coast Shire, runs from November 15th to the 17th with no less than thirty films. It is a three day celebration of local and international film and the people who make and watch them, which aims to create and nurture film culture in Lorne and the Otway region through screenings, workshops, live screenplay readings.
