The Chairman of the Asia Pacific Screen Awards (APSA), Des Power, today expressed concern and disappointment that Iranian filmmaker, Jafar Panahi, a former member of the APSA International Jury, has been jailed for six years and banned from writing scripts or making films for 20 years.

Jafar Panahi has been convicted of ‘gathering, colluding and propaganda against the regime in Iran’.
