World-renowned expert in the art of the low-budget, genre-based screenplay, Stephen Cleary returns to Melbourne this July with two exclusive low-budget intensives designed to catapult participants’ screenwriting and filmmaking skills to the next level and shape their film ideas into workable formats for ACTUAL low-budget production.

Formerly Head of Development at the UK’s National Film Agency, Stephen has worked as producer, writer, director and/or script editor on over 250 feature films and thousands of hours of television drama including Land and Freedom (Ken Loach), Rob Roy (Michael Caton-Jones) and Butterfly Kiss (Michael Winterbottom). In Australia, via the FilmLab initiative, Stephen developed Inner Demon (currently in post-production), Shut Up Little Man! (Sundance Film festival 2012), The Dead Strike Back, The Infinite Man, 52 Tuesdays and One-eyed Girl. All of these low-budget films will be released in 2013/14.
