As Australian live theatre production stalls, AMPAG is campaigning for new investment.

AMPAG Executive Director Helen O’Neil today said the eight theatre and circus companies surveyed were facing a major cost squeeze and, at the time of the survey, five were forecasting a cumulative deficit of $1.5 million. The Theatre Survey Report provides hard evidence of the need to boost spending on drama with data on trends in cost increases and income growth, and their impact on artistic areas in eight major theatre and circus companies.
