17 February, 2011 – Ausfilm is encouraged that the Government has acknowledged the issues adversely affecting offshore production and therefore the viability of the local Australian film and TV industry in its Review of the Australian Independent Screen Production Sector released today by Minister for the Arts, Simon Crean.

The report also confirms that large-scale international film and television productions provide vast economic, employment and skill development benefits to the country and emphasises the interdependence of the local film industry with offshore production.
