In recognition of the high standard of film reviews and film writing, so often taken for granted, the Australian Film Critics Association (AFCA), has expanded their annual ‘Film Awards’ to incorporate the ‘Film Writing Awards’ – a new section, with an emphasis on Australian film, consisting of four categories with accompanying cash prizes – $200 for film reviews and $400 for extended film pieces.
