REAL: Life on Film is Australia’s only film festival dedicated to screening contemporary documentary films. REAL showcases local and international films that address diverse and challenging subjects and presents alternative visions of the world. REAL is a major national initiative of the Australian Centre for the Moving Image’s (ACMI) and it will open at ACMI on Thursday 29 April ahead of seasons in Sydney, Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide in May.
REAL will feature an outstanding Australian documentary showcase as well as a gripping range of acclaimed documentaries from around the globe. Films from Denmark, USA, Israel, Iran, Finland, UK, Germany, Philippines, Sweden and Italy will make up a program of 30 inspirational, challenging and moving films that include 18 Australian premieres.
