We are currently seeking talented Senior Animators to join our animation team. Successful applicants will have extensive live action and character performance animation experience.

Employment period: Short-term, 5-6 month contracts with an ASAP start.

Location: Adelaide, Australia. This position is open to Australian applicants, as well as applicants with working rights in Australia.

Position Overview

Successful applicants will have extensive experience creating a wide range of live action and character performance animation, from mechanical assets, through to digi doubles, creatures and cartoon characters. As an accomplished animator, your portfolio of work demonstrates diverse, quality animation across a range of high profile projects. In this role you will be required to work closely with a variety of departments including layout, modelling and rigging.

Applicants must be highly proficient using Maya’s animation toolset.

Responsibilities:

• Create/animate and deliver realistic movement and performance of maya based assets including characters, creatures and hard surface models.
• Collaborate with other animators and creature team members to produce consistent and quality work.
• Provide regular updates to supervisors demonstrating the progression of your work.
• With a focus on delivering quality submissions, review your work prior to each submission, ensuring it hits creative & technical notes.
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of animation principles including timing, poise, purpose and intent.
• Work to overcome any blockers that may impede an expected delivery. Communicate widely to keep your stakeholders appraised of changes in brief or ability to hit quality benchmarks.
• Promote a collaborative and enjoyable workplace influencing morale, fostering purposeful discussions and a positive work ethic.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Minimum 5+ years animating experience focussed largely on high-end feature films animation.
• Ability to animate diverse characters as well as mechanical and hard-surface based models.
• Expert Maya user.
• Ability to create realistic movement and performance for digi-doubles.
• Maintain a calm and professional demeanour in a deadline focused work environment.
• Real world understanding of proportion, depth, scale, and physical space.
• Expert self organisation and time-management skills.
• Technical and creative problem solving skills with a service oriented mindset.
