Add to Calendar 10/17/2024 12:00 AM Australia/Melbourne Kambarang Film Festival After the inaugural success of last years’ School of Media and Communication KAMBARANG Film Festival we are proud to announce this year’s festival – ‘Celebrating Screen Production Alumni’.   The Noongar Season ‘Kambarang' is represented by the colour yellow as it symbolises an abundance of colours and flowers exploding all around us, marking the arrival of Spring and a time of celebration – and it is this festival which will celebrate the achievements of a selection of Screen Production students who have graduated from their Creative Media or Bachelor of Arts degrees in Screen studies and obtained external funding to write, produce and/or direct, award nominated or winning films from significant film festivals around the world. This is exemplified by the multi-award-winning film from alumni Cameron Whiteford who produced Esperance to Fremantle (2023) which sees a “A young man seeking the father who abandoned him as an infant resolves to approach him as a stranger to discover who he really is.” This film is part of this year’s CINEFEST OZ film festival in September and will be the concluding highlight of the films to be screened this year. All films are advised as being aimed at a MATURE AUDIENCE with some containing adult themes and language. Tickets are limited so get in early! For more information, visit Murdoch University
