The Hollywood Foreign Press Association has announced the nominees for the 79th Golden Globes Awards, which will be held on January 9. The nominations were announced by HFPA president Helen Hoehne and ‘the multi-talented’ Snoop Dogg and live-streamed for the first time.
Jane Campion’s New Zealand-shot Western drama The Power of the Dog (Netflix) leads with seven nominations, including for Best Picture – Drama, Best Motion Picture Director, and Best Motion Picture Screenplay, and Best Supporting Action Motion Picture, for young Australian actor Kodi Smit-McPhee.
