Tropfest has been taken to the brink of destruction, until it was cancelled late in 2015, to emerge in February 2016 after a desperate search for funding. Still wobbling, it moved from Centennial Park to Parramatta a year later, in a deal with the council in which it provided daytime entertainment as well. It was trying to bounce back by growing.
