David Stratton: a cinematic life is a lovely piece of work. Stratton makes himself into a kind of gift, patient, watchful, and alert. He often seems almost impassive, but he still thrums with deep energy as he is taken to places and icons he has only known on celluloid. He is wonderful to watch like Rupert the Bear on an escape run as he floats across the MacDonnell Ranges, or round-faced at Hanging Rock.
