The Adelaide Film Festival is biennial. It is the only one in Australia and one of the few of any kind which stretches a loyal audiences’ patience for two years.

The Adelaide Film Festival is also an investor in films. Custom here says that it runs the world premieres of those films. But if you only have a festival once every two years, and a film is late or completed in the first eighteen months, that gap is unacceptably long.
