It looks as if Australian television has been gripped by a passion for remakes. Picnic at Hanging Rock is to be re-imagined as a six part series for Foxtel. Wake in Fright is to be a two by ninety minute miniseries for Ten. Franchises have already worked for Foxtel with Wentworth, along with The Devil’s Playground as a sequel to the original.
