VCA Film and Television School remembers its first fifty years

The VCA Film and TV School has celebrated its fiftieth anniversary with a funky day and a red hot go at archiving itself.

Fifty years ago, the first tertiary course for filmmakers in Australia opened at Swinburne University in Melbourne. Almost 25 years ago it moved to the Victorian College of the Arts, to the campus where the anniversary was celebrated on Sunday June 19th.

At the same time, the VCA unveiled the first of its fifty films for fifty years, providing a comprehensive run of shorts across the decades as a meditation on cultural change.
