Image: Keeping Britain Alive – the NHS in a Day
Nick Curwin and Magnus Temple, of The Garden Productions, have made a string of remarkably intimate factual series in the UK, starting with The Family in 2008, produced for Shine. They rely on the ‘fixed rig’ approach, in which small cameras and sophisticated microphones are mounted throughout the location, collecting an enormous amount of footage. On The Family, that meant 25 cameras for a hundred days.
