Oscars: diversity issue rages while Fury Road creates a few surprises

The ‘lack of actors of colour’ problem refuses to go away and just gets worse for the Oscars. In a year which has both Creed and Straight Outta Compton gaining popular acclaim and professional plaudits, all the actor and supporting actor nominations are White. It is so bad that the LA Times has run an editorial about the failure, which probably has some connection with the fact that the mean age of Academy members is 68.
