Paula Wagner is a Hollywood producer who helped to pioneer the modern American tentpole film, which now dominates the local and international marketplace.

With blockbusters, the US take from Australian box office has gone from around one billion dollars to more than four billion in a decade. Around the Western world, they have pushed most other kinds of cinema into the edges of the multiplexes and created a desperate battle for survival.
