Every hour of every day, all over the world, people are putting themselves on Youtube. The best are great performers, but most are simply pouring themselves out, showing off in all their tawdry, awkward glory.

Here is just one example, randomly selected for no special reason:

This outburst has been watched 12,906 times, while the controversial fitness video Women Will Ruin Your Gains has had 400,000 views. Collectively, we watch in our millions. We gather our friends around the computer and pass the clips on and make comments and create internet memes from the weirdest, silliest moments. It is a huge cultural change, and it has never happened before.
