A key SBS amendment is unlikely to get through Parliament - and the results could be catastrophic.

Since the May budget, the government has intended to amend the Special Broadcasting Service Act 1991 to enable SBS to make a vital change to its advertising placement which will help it deal with cuts. It is very unlikely to win, and the implications for independent producers could be dire.
