In this session, filmmaker Michael McIntyre (assisted by Sara Kidd) provided an overview of their online site, Indieville which is well worth a look.
Essentially Indievillage.org has been created to break the tyranny of the filmmaker-distributor relationship, which Michael described as being like a master-slave relationship in many ways. ‘The filmmaker does all the hard work of making the film and the distributor takes the benefit,’ he suggested.
