BAFTA/AACTA: head to head before Oscar 2015

The Lego Movie comes through for the BAFTAS, making Rising Sun Pictures into happy plastic Munchkins

As the AACTA International results try to become part of the pre-Oscar momentum, we insert it into the dramatic arc. Did the AACTAs predict the BAFTAs? What do the BAFTAs tell us about the Oscars?

The Australians either agree with everyone or no-one. We went for Birdman, and the others went for Boyhood. The categories where we agreed with everyone else were the categories where we abandoned Birdman – everyone wants Julianne Moore to win for Best Actress in Still Living, while Patricia Arquette is a unanimous favourite for Best Supporting Actor in Boyhood. The only category where the AACTA’s agreed.
