Current head of arts at the ABC, Katrina Sedgwick, will replace Tony Sweeney as CEO and director of the Australian Centre for the Moving Image next February, which will bring her to Melbourne from Sydney, following on again from her nine year term as foundation director and CEO of the biennial Adelaide Film Festival.

There she established and drove the investment fund which enabled the festival to support an array of projects which spilled into multimedia, experimental works and installation pieces. She brings to ACMI an understanding of the moving parts of large public events, substantial insights and connections in the screen sector, and a strong sense of international arts marketing. She is moving from films to exhibitions, but the pressures and competition is pretty similar.
