Netflix is pretty clearly aiming to set up its SVOD service in Australia, with the Autumn of 2015 as the date at the top of the rumour list. In Cannes, the company’s Chief Content Officer, Ted Sarandos only admitted that they find Australia and New-Zealand ‘very attractive territories’ and that ultimately their goal is to be a “global content company.” However, the fragments he admitted about international expansion are grist to the mill of the Australia’s eager or horrified Netflix watchers.
