CinefestOZ 2014: celluloid to cellulose, we have a winner

Paper Planes won. It had some hot competition, but the conclusion was inevitable for the Cinefest Zeitgeist.

The red carpet has been a bit of an obsession at CinefestOZ 2014, since so many films have been premieres, at least in WA and the Australian film competition with its six films ensured a ready supply of screen identities.

But the awards night red carpet was a whirl of dress-ups, camera crews, and spotlights as patrons crowded into the three cinemas for their simulcast ceremony. The surprising media to punter ratio was driven by the presence of very local outlets and the enthusiastic involvement of the West Australian, which committed an internet viddy crew as well.
