Brisbane International Film Festival: traded to local government

After decades in the state agency, BIFF is being moved to Brisbane Marketing, controlled by the city council.

Just two weeks ago, this whole story was an enigma. We knew that Screen Queensland had a problem with the dates of the film festival which will coincide with G20, itself in receipt of $10m for entertainment. We knew that the festival inside Screen Queensland was a long-standing anomaly. We had watched the Asia Pacific Screen Awards and BIFF fail to connect again and again.
