“We never just wanted to make a sequel or prequel,” Nelson said. “We actually said right at the beginning that we weren’t going to do it. We’d only do it if it was a fresh, stand-alone film.”
When Nelson was making Red Dog, many people from the area came up and told their stories of Red Dog, and many of them said he was their dog, and as per the grand Australian tradition of describing in the opposite way, they’d called him Blue.
