The New Daily has the scoop of the year for the Australian screen sector.  Daniel Scharf, a relentless Australian producer with demonstrated ability to work between low budget horror and innocent children’s television, has gone public with his deal to make Australia’s first biopic in the true American mould.

Howard, Man of Steel will tell the remarkable story of John Winston Howard to the world. Russell Crowe, whose association with Scharf goes back to Romper Stomper, is strongly tipped to play Howard, while our sources tell us that Antony Hopkins is vacillating between Paul Keating and Andrew Peacock.
