Adam Smith trained as a lawyer, whose entire career has been on the business side of production. He left Adelaide for London, found a slot as an inhouse lawyer for ITV UK attached to productions like The South Bank Show, and then went to Warner Bros. He led a business team that assisted the development of new production businesses under the Warner umbrella in seven different markets in Europe and Asia, and also in the US and Latin America. Ultimately he was senior vice-president of the company.
