Pauline Piper stood on the podium with Simon Rippingale last week to take the AACTA Award for best animation, and will arrive blinking in New York less than a week later.
The short, all of fifteen minutes long, is driving a much larger set of ambitions. “We decided we wanted to make our own productions instead of working on other people’s,”, said Piper. “So we spent a lot of our own money and house deposits into A Cautionary Tale. We did see it as a stepping stone into animated series and features.”
