The second Asian Animation Summit opened on Sunday night, 8 December at the Hilton Phuket Arcadia resort on Karon Beach. The event is attended by over 200 animators, production companies, and distributors and a few investors.
Summit chair and former head of television at the ABC, Kim Dalton, said that at the inaugural summit in Kuala Lumpur, delegates would disappear after the formal events. The Phuket resort was chosen so delegates would encounter one another throughout the event, with the hope of even greater productivity.
