Stephen Van Mil’s Impian Films and the UK company Extraordinary Group have announced that they are attempting to raise finance for a three sound stage studio in Perth, plus a 180-room hotel, conference centre, bars, gymnasium and a cinema.

The new studios will be built on the grounds of Murdoch University, according to the media release.

According to its website, the Extraordinary Group comprises Chris Samwells, Mike Connor, and Steven Melendez (the son of Bill Melendez, who made his name animating the Charlie Brown cartoons for television), and Robertas Urbonas (who ran the Lithuanian Film Studios for fifteen years).
