Queensland’s screen development organisation, QPIX, has brushed aside the withdrawal of state government funding (and subsequent loss of tied Screen Australia funds) to go it alone with a radical new take on an advanced diploma. The line-up of instructors includes Michael and Peter Spierig (Daybreakers), and Murray Pope (The Pacific)

The new advanced diploma of screen and media will not only train the students, it will also see them making a full length, low-budget feature (including raising some of the funds through crowd-sourcing, under the gentle guidance of executive producer Mark Overett (Iron Sky).
