From a legend of Hollywood cinema, John Landis to Michael Kantor’s film debut, The Boy Castaways to the revolutionary Chinese filmmaker Wang Bing – this year’s Melbourne Festival film program is an all encompassing cinematic celebration.

Melbourne Festival Creative Director, Josephine Ridge’s first Festival features an exceptional program of international film taking in French, Chinese, American, Australian and Bollywood cinema. Co-curated by Richard Moore and visual arts expert and Creative Associate to the Festival, Louise Neri – this is an all-encompassing cinematic celebration of milestones, innovation and evolution that invites Melburnians of all ages to sit back and embrace one of the world’s most beloved art forms.
