Murali K. Thalluri, wunderkind Adelaide director who started 2.37 at the age of 19 and lost touch with the truth about the film, his life, and teenage suicide in the subsequent publicity, is well on the way to his second feature with the veterans at Kojo.
2.37 was partly developed even before Murali K. Thalluri left school, cost around $2m in real terms, and was selected for official competition in the Cannes Film Festival. It was made through Adelaide post-and-production house, Kojo in 2006, with Arclight as international sales agent. James Hewison, in his last year as artistic director of the Melbourne International Film Festival, programmed it as his mystery opening night film.
