Secrecy may be in the Shine DNA, but at least Richard Lowenstein is gracious, so we can add a human touch to the blunt announcements of the miniseries cast recreating the rise and roil of INXS. Samantha Jade will play the Kylie Minogue role – a burden which would scare us so badly our socks would fall off – as the cluster of INXS-able people around the show speaks silently about the image management at work.

There were tweets from actors on frozen Melbourne sets, and the first official photos released of a spunky young cast in 80s windswept mode, playing rock gods from a recent past as shooting started this week on the two-part television drama Never Tear Us Apart: The Untold Story of INXS.
